BlueSphere Bio was founded to deploy its novel TCXpress technology to unlock the potential of personalized T cell therapy for the treatment of cancer by harnessing the unique specificity of each patient’s T cells for the molecular fingerprint of each patient’s cancer.

Our trailblazing, proprietary TCXpress platform is an elegant, rapid approach that exploits the patient’s immune defenses to attack their cancer specifically and is designed to leave normal tissues untouched, thereby reducing harmful side effects.

The TCXpress platform and its implementation will deliver rapid, personalized T cell treatments for various cancer indications.

Purpose

This position will primarily be responsible for managing and recording the Company’s day-to-day activity, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliation. Ideal candidates are articulate, professional, have strong attention to detail, and are hands-on while working in a fast-paced and growing organization. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Finance and is located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accurately process and input invoice information in the G/L system and route invoices for approval to the business.
  • Prepares journal entries analyzes accounts, prepares schedules, and executes the monthly financial close.
  • Prepares general ledger account reconciliations and roll-forwards; researches and explains general ledger account variances to trend, budget, and prior year.
  • Reconcile purchase orders and accounts payable; investigate discrepancies.
  • Maintains the fixed assets subsidiary ledger, including asset capitalization, disposals, cost adjustments, and ensuring proper classification of assets.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports and special projects requiring accounting research and/or analysis of financial information supporting business and department initiatives.
  • Processing and reviewing payroll and benefits
  • Participate in the budget process led by the Controller.
  • Assist with the Company’s integration of new technologies.
  • Oversee the employee expense reimbursement process.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required.

Qualifications and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • 3+ years general Accounting and Accounts payable.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and SOX controls.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Proactive work ethic.
  • Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to translate financial concepts to individuals at all levels, including finance and non-finance managers
  • Detail-oriented, accurate
  • CPA or CPA candidate (preferred)
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Expensify, and/or Bill.com experience (preferred)
  • Biotech experience (preferred
